Doesn’t June feel like the 1st of January—the New Year—brimming with excitement? It’s also a month that brings back fond memories and fills me with anticipation for what lies ahead.
I’m sure you remember the thrill of starting a new school year! New books with crisp pages, waiting to be filled with doodles. New covers for them and the joy of sticking on new labels with our names neatly written. A new uniform that felt a little stiff but made you feel important, new shoes that you secretly hoped wouldn’t give you blisters, and a new bag that you couldn’t wait to show off. Huh, they weren’t always new, though, right? Even so… there was always something fresh about starting a new class. New classmates to befriend, new teachers to impress, and a new classroom with countless memories yet to be made. It was a time of endless possibilities and boundless excitement.
Now, as an adult, ‘New Beginnings are Always…Today’. However, June is still a reminder to embrace the present and look forward to the future with the same excitement I felt as a child. It’s about appreciating the little things that bring joy. Oh, the most important thing about June…
it brings the magic of monsoon.
The monsoon takes on a deeper, more reflective meaning as an adult. It’s not just about the thrill of rain and umbrellas anymore. Each raindrop represents a chance to wash away the old and embrace the new. It’s about their soothing sound against the windowpane, the calming scent of the earth after a fresh shower, and the cozy feeling of being indoors with a hot cup of mocha. The monsoon is a time to slow down, pause, and reflect on our journeys. It brings a sense of tranquility and a chance to rejuvenate. The rain washes away the dust of everyday life, giving us a moment to breathe. Whether it’s a new job, a new hobby, or simply a new perspective, June encourages us to take a step forward.
